Angie Ferenc, MA LCMHC
I am a Vermont Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and have been in private practice since 2006. I am an independent practitioner who provides individual counseling as well as mindfulness and stress reduction workshops throughout the state. I also partner annually with a registered yoga instructor to offer my popular day long Women’s Wellness Retreat. These retreats promote opportunities for personal growth, connection, self-care and deep relaxation.
I work primarily with young adults and adult women who seek support for issues related to: traumatic life events, depression, anxiety and stress, self-esteem and self-care. Clients also seek out my support during major life adjustments and transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum and parenting, empty nest, separation and divorce, chronic medical issues, job/career changes, as well as during times of loss and grief. Many of my clients are nurses, teachers, new therapists & caregivers.
My therapeutic style is relationship based and my clients often describe me as warm, nurturing and collaborative. I strongly believe that the foundation to any therapeutic relationship is a safe, predictable and trusting attachment. I have a sweet therapy dog in training named Josie who is my unofficial co-therapist and is available to join sessions. Many of my client’s deeply appreciate Josie’s calming energy during their sessions and report that she helps them to feel more safe, soothed and grounded.
I am committed to holistic care and incorporate both the mind and the body into the work. I help my clients to identify areas in their lives that they would most like to improve upon and assists them in setting achievable goals. I support my clients in gaining new insights into their choices and underlying emotions and helps them to address and work toward healing unresolved pain. I assist my clients in changing negative thoughts and behaviors that may be undermining their happiness so that they are better able to manage distressing feelings and symptoms & ultimately create a more peaceful, fulfilling life.
I currently accept: BC/BS, Magellan, MVP, Medicaid, Victim's Compensation & cash payment for services. I can be reached directly at: firstname.lastname@example.org or #802-363-1784.
